Unveiled: First Look at the HKIS Dragon Center
We end the school year with our first look at the exterior of the new HKIS Dragon Center for Activities and Athletics (DCAA).
“Good things come to those who wait,” as the saying goes. It’s a helpful reminder that patience and perseverance will eventually lead to positive outcomes. This is certainly true of the anticipation around the unveiling of the new HKIS Dragon Center for Activities and Athletics (DCAA) on the Tai Tam campus.
The 2024-2025 school year started as most years do–with a start-of-the-year fervor that was further fueled by excitement around the expected opening of the Dragon Center. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances with the original contractor that caused major delays to the schedule, the anticipated opening date would come and go. As a testament to the HKIS spirit of resilience, the school leadership team discussed a bold new plan that would overcome the unexpected hurdles. They made the inspired decision to change contractors to a company that guaranteed to take the new Athletics building across the finish line.
Changing contractors during a billion-dollar project is never easy. However, as evidence that the school leadership team made the right decision, we wrap up the 2024-2025 school year with our first look at the exterior of the Dragon Center for Activities and Athletics!
