Welcome Home
Alumni & Former Faculty
Homecoming Week 2026
We’re still smiling as we look back on HKIS60 Homecoming Week—the joyful kickoff to our 60th anniversary celebrations. Over four full days, alumni across decades, along with former faculty and staff, came together across both campuses to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate what makes HKIS so special.

From the Welcome Cocktail and campus tours to panel discussions, the Alumni Social, the Recognition Ceremony honoring Jim Handrich, and the Spring Celebration, the week created so many moments of connection. Highlights included two engaging panel, alongside musical performances, visits to the new Dragon Center, and reunions across the city.
It was a busy few days, but the overwhelmingly positive feedback left our hearts full—and reminded us that all the effort poured into this week was well worth it.
We are so grateful to everyone who joined us - especially those who traveled from near and far - and to the many colleagues, partners, and volunteers who helped bring this celebration to life.

IN YOUR WORDS
As Felicitas Massa ’06 shared, “…this week absolutely made me start to feel like a part of this community again.”
For Mary Jane Elliott, former teacher in Lower Primary, the experience was also a moment to reflect—sharing that it gave her “a deeper appreciation for the years our family was an integral part of HKIS… The world needs schools like HKIS.”
Tyhoa Kobler ’89 summed it up as “a spectacular week celebrating our school and its legacy.”
Welcome Home Cocktail Reception
We kicked things off with a Welcome Cocktail at Repulse Bay—one of the earliest and most historic sites in HKIS history. Despite the rain (Hong Kong in April!), we were fortunate to welcome guests against a beautiful sunset backdrop.
