HKIS is excited to celebrate the official opening of the brand-new DCAA at the Community Day on November 1, 2025.
The DCAA slogan, “Find Your Center”, sums it up. It is an open invitation, or declaration, to our community to enjoy the DCAA as a place to find balance through physical activity. As all the hardware comes online, we will gain a sophisticated “playground” of sorts–a space designed for countless opportunities to activate our bodies and our minds. And it offers the space to activate others.
DRAGON CENTER FOR ACTIVITIES & ATHLETICS
A center for developing fitness and wellbeing
An inclusive space that inspires
A place to fuel the fire inside

HKIS hosted the Hong Kong China Wrestling Assocation (HKCWA) 2nd International Wrestling Training Camp. The event brought together young athletes from Hong Kong S.A.R., China, Mongolia, Japan, Canada, Australia, Russia and Uzbekistan. With 60 participants, the camp was a vibrant celebration of sport, cultural exchange and making new friends.
The multi-purpose space of the DCAA gives us the chance to strengthen bonds with our local community partners by hosting and collaborating on new events.
HKIS has partnered with groups like the Hong Kong China Wrestling Association and NBA Hong Kong. In the High School, Seeds of Service student leaders are planning a day-long soccer tournament with team sign-ups to support an NGO-partner, Branches of Hope.
The much-needed added space from the DCAA offers an exciting chance to grow our community partnerships.
Constructing the DCAA was the biggest HKIS campus development project in decades. It symbolizes our growth from a small community of families with humble ambition to offer the best American-style education in Hong Kong. Now, HKIS is a leading international school in Asia and an activities and athletics powerhouse.
Athletics are core to HKIS, we believe in the power of sport. The DCAA is HKIS’ investment in the future athletes of Hong Kong. It marks the school’s commitment as part of the city’s growing athletics training landscape. Investing in our programs through this center shows the Dragons are here for the long run.
