As HKIS considered how to kick off the 60th anniversary celebrations, we looked to the place where every great story begins: the very first chapter. To celebrate six decades of learning, growth, and community, we journeyed back to 1960s Hong Kong, revisiting the people, places, and moments that laid the foundation for the school we know today.

On April 25, 2026, the HKIS community went back to the Future.

Hosted by alumni emcees, the evening featured student-led theatrical performances, a special mini-documentary highlighting the Mache family who help start HKIS, and musical performances by the High School String Quartet and Indigo Town. The event was both a celebration of our shared history and a tribute to the mission, values, and relationships that have united the HKIS community for six remarkable decades.
