“Chapels are a wonderful way that we celebrate Jesus; how much he loves us and what he has done for us.”
In a typical year, Lower Primary (LP) brings all the students together several times a year for division-wide Chapels and assemblies. These events are an important way to build community in the Lower Primary. There is nothing better than 775 children singing and dancing together.

In addition to building community, Chapels are a wonderful way that we celebrate Jesus; how much he loves us and what he has done for us. One of the highlights in LP each year is our Easter Chapel. One of our second grade classes presents the Chapel sharing the story of Easter beginning from Creation. The students, in child appropriate language and imagery, tell the story of how sin destroyed God’s perfect world and that God needed to send a rescuer. Jesus, our rescuer, is God’s love coming to earth as a person. The most moving and powerful part of the Chapel is when students bring forward cards showing sins (hate, sadness, jealousy, stealing, stress, lies) and lay them on Jesus' arms; Jesus then took our sins and went to the cross to die. But that isn’t the end of the story. Jesus has risen! Hallelujah!
