A MESSAGE FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL
It is my pleasure to present you with the Annual Report of Giving to HKIS for the 2021-2022 academic year.
As I reflect on this year, I immediately think about the many challenges, opportunities, and the blessings that 2021-2022 brought to us. In the face of uncertainty and obstacles, our teachers, parents, students, and employees have shown resilience and remarkable commitment to the success and well-being of our children and the broader community. Together, we truly embodied this year’s school theme: United in Purpose.
On behalf of the leadership team, I thank each of you who contributed to the Annual Fund. Your generous support directly contributed to the spiritual, academic, and social growth of every student at HKIS. I also appreciate the commitment and efforts of those of you who volunteered for the Annual Fund Committee, Parent Faculty Organization, Booster Club, Parent Advisory Groups, Chinese Studies Parent Committee, and all other school-related events and groups.
Finally, a special thank you to the Advancement Office for putting together this report and for working every day to ensure that we show our immense gratitude for our donors and volunteers and their generous support of HKIS. Over the last three years, the Advancement Office has helped generate a community of support at HKIS, which is reflected in the highest levels of Annual Fund participation among parents and faculty that we have ever had. This feat is especially impressive given the challenging global climate in recent years. This success has all been under the leadership of our Chief Advancement Officer Ms. Ann Wardwell, who is sadly leaving HKIS at the end of this school year. Though her time at HKIS was brief, her impact has been profound and we are sure it will be lasting. Please join me in wishing her all the best and success in her new role in the United States.
