HKIS WELCOMES

MIDDLE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION

Hello, Casey!

Anticipating a new and uninterrupted school year on campus, we welcome our incoming Middle School Principal. We sat down with Casey Faulknall to learn more about her beyond her impressive qualifications as a Middle School educator.

What is your favorite family activity?
We love exploring, whether that be traveling to another country, hiking in the outdoors, or wandering around enjoying the sites and sounds of our city. We are also a very sporty family and enjoy getting outside to play tennis, bike, or football.

When was the last time you had a good laugh, and what happened?
We all participated in a house activity (cup stacking) at our last faculty meeting, just like the students. It became very competitive with lots of laughter. It was great for the teachers to have a team-building activity where we could all be just like our middle schoolers.

What fictional place would you most like to visit?
Narnia, for sure! I would love to walk through a closet to another world and be able to talk with animals.

What will you miss about Mumbai?
The incredible people, vibrant colors, and warm culture! It is a cosmopolitan place where you can find anything, and someone is always willing to help. The food is fantastic, and I will miss masala dosas, sev puri, and chaat; I seriously cannot live without spice ever again!

What are you excited to try in Hong Kong?
We are looking forward to trying so many things in Hong Kong. Here are just a few; my family is excited to cycle in the New Territories and appreciate the seaside views and beautiful green spaces. We are also excited to celebrate Chinese New Year and experience the Dragon Boat Festival. Of course, we want to try all of the amazing food on offer!

What were you like as a Middle Schooler?
I guess you would really have to ask my mom what I was like to get an accurate answer for this question! :) I was friendly, outgoing, and responsible. I took my academics and athletics very seriously and enjoyed being active and involved.

Our school mascot is a dragon. Are there qualities of a dragon that you embody?
I consider myself to be positive and optimistic! I also believe that dragons are competitive, and I do love a bit of healthy competition.

Casey has been the Middle School Principal at the American School of Bombay (ASB) since 2016.
